The Lürssen brokerage market
Of the 170+ superyachts Lürssen has delivered, a relatively small number appear on the open brokerage market at any given time. The typical pattern is long-term ownership — many Lürssen owners commission a vessel and hold it for a decade or more before considering a sale. When a Lürssen does come to market, it generates significant interest quickly, often selling before a public listing is established.
The most reliable way to access Lürssen brokerage opportunities is through a specialist broker with active relationships in the segment. Off-market transactions — where a buyer and seller are connected privately before a listing is made public — are common at this level. SuperYachtReview lists all publicly available Lürssen yachts for sale, updated as listings are added and withdrawn.

What to expect from a Lürssen purchase
A Lürssen purchase differs from most superyacht transactions in one important respect: the documentation trail is typically comprehensive. Because Lürssen builds to a high standard with formal classification throughout, vessels come with complete build records, class survey histories, and systems documentation that is often more thorough than comparable vessels from other yards.
This documentation is genuinely valuable. It makes the survey process more straightforward, reduces the risk of post-purchase surprises, and supports the vessel's value on eventual resale. Buyers should request and review the full classification history, the Continuous Survey record, and any refit documentation before proceeding.
The MYBA Memorandum of Agreement is the standard purchase contract used in the Mediterranean superyacht market and is the appropriate framework for a Lürssen transaction. Ensure your broker is a MYBA member or is working within the MYBA framework.
Due diligence and survey
Pre-purchase survey is non-negotiable for a transaction at this level. For a Lürssen, the surveyor should have specific experience with steel and aluminium construction in the 60-metre-plus range — the structural engineering of these vessels is substantially more complex than smaller GRP yachts, and a generalist surveyor may not identify issues that are material to the purchase price.
A full survey will typically include: hull thickness measurements (ultrasonic testing of the steel hull plating), structural inspection, machinery and propulsion survey, electrical and systems review, and a sea trial at varying speeds. Budget one to three weeks for a thorough survey of a vessel in the 60–100 metre range.
The survey report forms the basis for price renegotiation where defects are found. On a Lürssen, significant defects are rare — but running gear (shafts, propellers, stern tubes), stabiliser systems, and generator plant warrant particular attention as high-cost items if they require attention.

Price guidance
Lürssen pricing on the brokerage market reflects both the original build cost and the vessel's condition and refit history. As a broad guide:
- 60–70m, pre-2010: €8–20 million depending on condition and refit history
- 60–70m, post-2015: €20–40 million
- 80–90m, post-2015: €40–80 million
- 100m+, post-2015: €80 million and above
- Flagship vessels (120m+): Priced individually, typically €150–300 million+
These ranges are indicative. Actual asking prices and negotiated sale prices vary significantly based on equipment specification, charter income history, crew contracts, and market conditions at the time of sale. Our pricing intelligence section provides current market context.
